TOOLS REQUIRED: HWE and Carpet Shark. CHEMICALS REQUIRED:Dirt Chaser (Digester), Stain Magic (Oxidizer) or OSR.
PROCEDURE (Surface Contamination):
IMPORTANT: Remember that blood is a biohazard. Protect yourself accordingly and treat it according to EPA guidelines.
Step 1. Mix Digester according to directions on bottle. Step 2. Apply solution to stained fibers to thoroughly wet fibers. Step 3. Gently but thoroughly agitate fibers to break up and emulsify deposit. Dwell time will help the biochemistry work for you here. Step 4. Thoroughly rinse via water extraction leaving carpet as dry as possible (do not use an acid rinsing agent here). Step 5. If a visible stain remains apply an Oxidizer.
PROCEDURE (Subsurface Contamination):
Also you may experience wicking of blood on heavier deposits. If deposit is heavy enough to have soaked through backing and into pad use the following process.
Step 1. Mix OSR (Odor and Stain Remover) according to the directions on the bottle. Step 2. Saturate the contaminated area being sure to apply enough OSR solution to penetrate the carpet backing and padding underneath. Step 3. Allow up to 30 minutes dwell time. Step 4. Use subsurface flood extraction tool to remove moisture and oxidized contamination. Step 5. Dry area as quickly and thoroughly as possible.
